Senna Cosmetics Review

1:50:00 AM

I have been looking for a good quality make up brush set for quite some times now. I only own one good quality blush brush but that's not sufficient. I apparently needed some other type of brushes, especially with all the mineral make up in my make up box. I have quite a few mineral make up powders from foundation to eye shadows, blushes and so on.. And I need some new brushes to apply all that to my face.

This is where Senna Cosmetics came in. Senna Cosmetics is a make up company founded by hollywood make up artist Eugenia Weston. Eugenia is nominated for an Emmy award in 1993 and has been working with several celebrities including Bette Midler, Michael Jackson, and her Senna cosmetics are seen on hit TV shows such as 90210, Ugly Betty, Heroes, Scrubs, Private Practice and many more!

Her online web store sennacosmetics.com offer a range of make up essentials starting from skin care to make up brushes and complete make up line as well as mineral products. She got everything you need. Either you need a mineral foundation or a cleanser or sun protection lotion or maybe a new lipstick, look no further, she got it all on her website. You could also find her specialty brow shaper kit there.

Since I need some brushes to apply my mineral make up powder so I chose to review one of her brush kit which is the Natural Woods Brush Set. And this is what I got in the mail :
Allison McDonald, the lovely PR girl from Senna Cosmetics kindly include a personal note in the brush kit, how thoughtful! Thank you Allison!

The Natural Wood Brush Set is a set of 8 professional brushes packed in a tool bag. The brushes are made of beautiful lacquered wood and quality hair that will give excellent results for all make up tasks. The clear zip-up tool bag keeps brushes neat and close at hand. Here are what's in the brush kit:
From left to right, starting from top:
Large Tapered Oval Powder Brush for setting makeup and bronzers.
Medium Tapered Round Blush Brush is to apply blush powders precisely onto apples of the cheek.
Medium Tapered Oval Blender Brush is to blend blush and foundation.
Small Tapered Oval Eye Color Brush is to apply overall eyelid powders, to highlight cheekbones, or to clean up shadow dusting under the eyes.
Crown Eyelid Brush is for applying eye shadow to the eyelids.
Cubic Eye Contour Brush is to add deep eye shadows to the contour of the eyelids.
Precision Task Brush works for detailed tasks such as lining eyes with powder colors, smudging liner, or applying lipstick colors.
Stylus Eye Liner Brush works with cake liners and wet/dry eye colors for precise, fine eye lining.

And here's all the brushes that I received, they are as good as what the website describes. I put them in a container so you could easily see the details of all the brushes below:

What I love most from the brush set is they pretty much cover all the important brushes you need. You could never go wrong with this brush set, you buy this and you're all covered.

I also love that the set comes with an instruction card that help us know which brush to apply what make up. This is excellent for us who doesn't really know which brush to use for all our make up.
Don't be shy, I am one of those girls too ;p
I'm not an expert on make up so I learn how to do my make up from youtube, but all the make up expert gals on youtube used different brushes for different purposes, example: use this brush for applying eye shadows on your lid and then use that brush for applying dark shadows on your crease and then use this brush to put on some blush on your cheek and use that brush to apply bronzer along your cheek bone. So many different brushes to use. I already have several eye shadows and bronzer and blushes on my make up bag so all I need is the different brushes to apply them correctly.

Senna Cosmetics has made it easy for all of us to use their brush kit. All the brushes that Senna Cosmetics sent me has numbers on it's wooden handle and we can read from the instruction card according to their numbers which brush is the blush brush or which blush is the foundation brush and so on...

And now we're talking about the quality. Since Senna Cosmetics fans include A-list celebrities such as Anglina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, etc so the quality of the products are unquestionable. I have used these brushes since the day they came to my house (which is a few weeks ago) and I am very satisfied. The hair of the brushes are of great quality, you can really tell a difference between a cheap dept store brushes and Senna cosmetics brushes. And that's because Senna Cosmetics brushes are very professional. From their professional look to the application the brushes hair are smooth and soft to the skin while successfully applying make up to our skin. I love love love this product! This Natural Woods Brush Set costs $28.50 and you'll love the professional look of it.
So for all of your make up needs I recommend Senna Cosmetics to you. I'm sure all of their products are as good as the brush kit that I reviewed, or maybe even better considering that Angelina Jolie also used it!

Their newest product and most technologically advanced product is the HDEXTREME MAKEUP FOUNDATION, a breakthrough liquid foundation with patented HD light reflecting and line filling ingredient technology that gives youthful, flawless perfection with a remarkably light, weightless feel. It's also formulated free of : Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrance, Mineral Oil and Triclosan. Oh how I love high tech make up ;)
